» View 2009 Corn Hybrids
In 1991, with its reputation for developing the highest-yielding soybeans
in the industry secure, Stine introduced to the industry a genetically unique
line of hybrid seed corn, developed exclusively by Stine breeders. Since that
time, more and more growers have been making the switch to Stine seed corn, corn
that delivers outstanding yields and unsurpassed standability.
This year, Stine will test and evaluate more than 100,000 preliminary hybrids,
making Stine one of the largest developers of new hybrid seed corn genetics.
Among the many features of the Stine seed corn breeding program:
- Large inbred nurseries in Adel, Iowa and South America.
- Retest evaluations
- Elite test evaluations in more than 20 locations prior to release
- Our innovative FieldMax seed
corn production system, which has been found to minimize mechanical contact and
significantly improve seed vigor.
Of the more than 100,000 lines we evaluate each year, only a handful will
make it to commercial production. But at Stine, we believe that breeding is a “numbers
game,” in which the more unique lines we evaluate, the more high-yielding
products we will discover. The result has been a complete line of proprietary
hybrids which offer great standability and higher yields.
The bottom line? More return per acre.
