2020: A Year in Review

December 2020

Despite the challenges of 2020, those in the ag industry stepped up and prevailed. From agronomists to ag researchers to farmers in the field, we were able to adapt our practices and operations to maintain our role as an essential industry that feeds and fuels the world. At Stine®, we’re proud of our employees and sales team for overcoming 2020’s obstacles to ensure growers’ seed needs were met and exceeded. No matter the year, our priority is and continues to be supplying our grower customers with elite, high-yielding products and quality service. And our grower customers kept on rolling despite the challenges they faced. Here is a high-level look at what we’ve accomplished in 2020 and what we look forward to in the new year.

  1. A successful growing season propelled by Enlist E3® Enlist E3 soybeans have exceeded expectations across the industry. From our Elite Yield Trials to our 2020 plot data, we’re excited about the yield results we’ve seen. Stine brand Enlist E3 soybeans provide tolerance to three sites of herbicide action — 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate (Liberty®) — all of which are approved and readily available for 2021. No other product on the market confers tolerance to this combination of herbicide sites of action. The Enlist E3 system’s unique triple trait stack gives soybean growers these three sites of action based on two neighbor-friendly herbicide options — Enlist One® and Enlist Duo® herbicides. Both Enlist One and Enlist Duo contain Colex-D® technology — a formulation designed to reduce applications from drifting. The result: unrivaled weed control designed to land and stay on target! And we have plenty of seed available of Stine brand Enlist E3 soybeans for the 2021 planting season, with 112 different lines ranging from a 00/01 to a 50 maturity.
  2. Territory expansion. We’ve expanded our sales reach this year by growing our offerings and teams up and down the East Coast and in the Southwest. Simply put, our goal is to reach every U.S. corn and soybean grower. To do this, we’ve strategically added product offerings that best suit the varying growing environments and field conditions in these new territories, in addition to regional sales agronomists who are well versed in Stine’s products and the agronomy of each region. And we’re still hiring new sales reps across the country! Know someone who may be interested in becoming an independent sales rep for Stine? They can view our open opportunities here.
  3. Introduction of Yield+. In 2020, we launched the new Yield+ campaign — our assurance to growers that goes beyond our STINE HAS YIELD promise. Not only is it our goal to offer the best, highest-yielding corn and soybean seed in the industry, but it’s also our aim to deliver product choice, competitive pricing, knowledgeable sales team members and dealers throughout the country, a time-tested and proven system to evaluate the performance of those genetics and much more. Learn more about our Yield+ campaign in this video.
  4. Expansion of our seed corn offerings. Stine continues to test and evaluate unique corn genetics combined with the industry’s most desirable trait packages that result in hybrids with exceptional standability and superior performance. From a full lineup of Stine brand Agrisure® corn to our own glyphosate-tolerant hybrids (Stine GT) to our elite, conventional lineup, we’ve got what growers need to produce a high-yielding corn crop in 2021.

Thank you for your continued dedication to the Stine brand. Your flexibility with 2020’s changing circumstances and trust in our products and services were crucial to our success and that of the entire ag industry this year. Here’s to a happy, prosperous and bright new year!
