A Stine Thanksgiving

November 2017

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” — John F. Kennedy

As we prepare to celebrate the joy of Thanksgiving with family and friends, we are reminded that gratitude is more than words. At Stine, expressing gratitude isn’t something we do once a year. We are grateful every day for our dedicated employees, our loving families and our loyal customers who, ultimately, drive the success of our business. Whether it’s in the form of communication, personalized customer service, product discounts or standing true to our promise to deliver the highest-yielding genetics to grower customers, expressed or implied, we are thankful for all of you year-round.

A few of our employees recently shared what they are thankful for:

Ken Wolf, director of training — sales
My Heavenly Father and my family — without them, I would be nothing. For Stine that lets me improve my situation and gives me an opportunity to share my resources. Finally, being given the chance to train and teach new ISRs so we can offer the best sales and service to our customers.

Stefanie Ray, regional sales agronomist
I am thankful for my family, especially my son, Kade, who keeps me on my toes but makes my life complete. I’m also thankful for my health and to be able to work in an industry that appreciates the importance of kindness, hard work and family values.

Jeff Anderson, western director of sales
The things that I am thankful for this Thanksgiving are my wife, Tarah, and our two kids, Maddy and Colt; my family and friends; being a part of Stine Seed Company and everyone I get to work with because of it; and last but not least, having the opportunity to live in this great country.

Bill Kessinger, regional sales agronomist
I am thankful for time. The time that I get to spend playing with, teaching and watching my two kids grow up; the time I get to spend loving and laughing with my wife; the time I got to spend with those who are now gone; and the time I get to spend with the great people at Stine and the farmers I get the privilege to work with. Time is a precious commodity, and I thank God for every minute I am blessed with.

Mike Smith, technical agronomist
This year I’m very thankful for my health. It was about a year ago when I experienced the first of several strokes that left my future up in the air. A year later, with great medical care and encouragement from my family, I have made a full recovery and feel better than I have in years. I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and friends this holiday season and relishing every moment!

Brian Hartman, director of agronomy
As I reflect on this past year, there is so much to be thankful for. I am most thankful for the health of my family and all our achievements made through the hard work put forth; I am extremely thankful for the freedom we have as Americans, as many in other countries do not have such; and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many professional, hardworking and dedicated people at Stine, which makes work enjoyable as we have accomplished so much. I look forward to what is in store for 2018, as we are in some of the most exciting and challenging times in agriculture.

Todd Schomburg, regional sales agronomist
I am thankful for my close family and friends.  And I look forward to the opportunity to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my family.

Clint Bounds, general manager, sales
I am most thankful for my wife and two children. They are my pride and joy! My parents that have always given me tremendous love and support, and the Stine leadership team I am surrounded by and work with every day. They make my job fun and are very dedicated to their jobs with Stine.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
