From dream to reality: Just a Jackson Thing’s first farm journey with Stine®

November 2025

When 10-year-old agricultural influencer Jackson Laux, better known online as "Just a Jackson Thing," decided what seed to plant for his very first corn crop, his choice was clear. He chose Stine® Seed Company.

Jackson, who hails from South Whitley, Indiana, wanted a corn product that would perform well in his growing environment and reflect the same work ethic and commitment to excellence that have shaped his family’s legacy. After careful consideration, he worked with his local Stine dealer to select a Stine hybrid known for strong performance and consistency. The result was a standout first crop and a rewarding first harvest.

“Jackson and his family represent everything that’s good about agriculture. Their passion for farming, curiosity about the process and respect for the work behind it are traits we admire. We’re honored that they trusted Stine to help them start this new chapter.”

This was not Jackson’s first encounter with Stine. In 2024, he and his family visited the company’s headquarters in Adel, Iowa, where he met with Myron Stine, Farm Manager Steve Luther and National Marketing and Sales Director David Thompson to learn more about seed research, breeding and production. That visit sparked a lasting impression, which resulted in mutual respect and shared enthusiasm for agriculture.

A year later, Jackson applied what he learned from that experience to his own two-acre field, planting Stine seed for the first time. With his newly purchased combine, he completed his first harvest this fall.

“Watching Jackson take the knowledge he’s gained and put it into practice on his own land is inspiring. He understands farming in a way that goes beyond his years, and we’re grateful he saw the value in our products and the people behind them.”

With a combined social media following of more than 1 million across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, Jackson continues to share his authentic love for farming with audiences of all ages. His stories and videos celebrate the realities of agriculture. From early mornings in the field to lessons learned with every season, Jackson reminds his audience of a youthful enthusiasm for our industry.

At Stine, that authenticity resonates deeply. “Jackson is a customer, but he’s also part of a community of growers who believe in hard work, innovation and family values,” says Stine. “We don’t take that trust lightly. Our goal is to keep earning his business year after year.”
