At Stine® Seed Company, leadership is not inherited; it is earned. For Myron Stine, company president, that journey began as a farm worker on the Stine Seed Farm and has taken him through nearly every corner of the business. Today, as a third-generation member of the Stine family business, he is guiding the company into the future with a clear purpose: deliver value to the farmers who depend on Stine genetics season after season.
From the ground up
Myron’s connection to agriculture is genuine and long-standing. Growing up as the son of Stine founder and CEO Harry Stine, he was immersed in farming and the seed business from an early age. Through high school Myron worked on the farm crew planting, spraying and helping with harvest and tillage. After earning a bachelor’s degree in crop science from McPherson College, he joined the seed business and has never looked back.
“After college, I liked the idea of working for the family business. I felt many people do not get that opportunity. So, I wanted to try it, and I ended up very much enjoying it.”

He worked his way through the organization, serving as district sales manager, regional sales manager, sales director, and vice president of sales and marketing before becoming president. Each position strengthened his understanding of what growers need and how to deliver it.
A farmer-first vision
In his current role, Myron oversees the Stine Seed Company’s marketing, sales and customer strategy. At the core of everything is a straightforward philosophy: put the farmer first. It is a value instilled by his father and one that shapes every major decision at Stine.
“The strength of the Stine legacy comes down to understanding the farmer. When a grower is part of Stine, we can partner to make better and stronger decisions together. These relationships guide every business transaction and product delivered.”

When it comes to the brand's future, Myron is clear about his goals. “My ambitions are to take the Stine brand to a new level in delivering value to the customer,” he says. “This value comes through being more closely connected to growers and bringing them customized solutions for their farm, including innovative practices, the best germplasm on the market and a sales team that's there with them through every season.”
Connecting research to the field
One of Myron’s core focuses as president is ensuring Stine’s scientific advancements translate into real, measurable results for growers. He works closely with the company’s research and agronomy teams to make sure what is developed in the lab is fully realized in the field.
He has been instrumental in advancing Stine’s role in key trait and technology platforms and expanding its agronomy capabilities because he believes strong genetics must be paired with practical, field-level expertise to truly serve farmers.
“We always say we wouldn’t put anything on our grower customers’ farms that we wouldn’t put on our own.”

The advantage of family ownership
As an independent, family-owned company, Stine operates differently than many of its competitors, and Myron sees that as a meaningful advantage for growers.
“Being a family-owned seed company allows for flexibility in how we operate. We’re not bound to corporate boards. We have the independence to make quick and logical decisions — ones that are innovation-driven and in the best interest of the farmer.”

Under Myron’s leadership, Stine continues to expand its reach, strengthen its brand, and reinforce its standing as a trusted partner to growers across the United States and in international markets. His father’s lessons in fairness and integrity remain central to how he leads: “Doing your best to be fair with all individuals and entities involved in business situations is what I always witnessed from him.”
Invested in the industry's future
Myron’s commitment to agriculture reaches beyond the company. He has served on the FFA Enrichment Center Committee and the board of directors for America’s Cultivation Corridor, as well as other industry boards and committees. Through those experiences, he has developed a deeper appreciation for the relationships and hard work that sustain American agriculture. He leads with the same long-term perspective that has guided the company since its founding, focusing on keeping Stine strong for the generations ahead.
