Schools Benefit from Program to Help Grow Farming Communities

March 2015

Stine team members pride themselves on being part of the fabric of the communities they serve, and so it was a great honor recently for Stine RSAs and DSMs to participate in check presentations to two deserving schools as part of Monsanto Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Communities program. The program, which launched in 2010, engages farmers in entering to win a $2,500 donation for their favorite community nonprofit organization, such as 4-H, FFA, schools, fire departments and other civic groups. One winner is selected in each of 1,324 eligible counties in 40 states.

Stine RSA Dustin Ellis and DSM Jamie Bowlin (pictured) helped deliver a $2,500 check to Central Decatur High School FFA, courtesy of local farmer Noah Yoder. Noah was the program winner in Decatur County, Iowa, and chose the FFA to receive the funds. Noah's son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Nicole Yoder, are Stine dealers in the area.

In Brussels, Illinois, Stine RSA Gary Niemeier and DSM Cody Kiel were on hand for a check presentation to the Brussels elementary school. The Noltes from Calhoun County, Illinois, were selected to win the $2,500 check, which they then donated to the school for a new playground equipment fund.

On behalf of the entire Stine team, warm congratulations to all the winners and their favorite nonprofit organizations. We’re proud to have dealers and growers that are passionate about serving their communities.
