Over the years, Stine has developed partnerships with the industry’s leading breeding programs. These collaborations benefit both us and our grower customers. They give us access to top-tier genetics, which allows us to test more genetically unique lines of corn and to bring newer, higher-yielding conventional corn products to market faster and more efficiently than our competition. This unique position has also provided us the opportunity to develop our breeding program based on the newest conventional genetics so that we can offer grower customers more choice and better yield potential.
Developing the industry’s highest-performing seed starts with a solid foundation, and the foundation of our seed corn is conventional genetics, with traits to follow. However, not every situation calls for a trait. In some instances, if your fields aren’t at an increased risk of above- and below-ground pests or if you’re not too worried about heavy disease pressure, spending extra money on traited corn may not deliver the best return on investment for your fields.
Stine’s conventional corn products allow you to save money without jeopardizing yield potential. Our line of conventional corn seed has passed rigorous testing in our extensive breeding program, so you’re not losing quality or yield potential when you choose our conventional corn.
We’re pleased to offer growers several conventional corn lines for the 2021 season, a few of which are:
Stine 9002-0 Brand Corn — A 77–79-day relative maturity product with high-yielding conventional genetics. This product offers excellent emergence with late-season stalk strength for maximum standability. This is a great option for productive soils as a full-season hybrid.
Stine 9714-0 Brand Corn — A 105–107-day relative maturity product and proprietary hybrid to Stine’s breeding program, Stine 9714-0 is a shorter type hybrid with an average 89-90-inch plant height. This allows growers to push populations and maximize sunlight interception for more yield. This product has a deep root structure for better standability and moisture intake and is one of the leading high-population corn options in the industry. Stine 9714-0 works well on highly productive and loam soils.
Stine 9709-0 Brand Corn — A 110–112-day relative maturity product, Stine 9709-0 is a taller version of our high-yielding 9714 brand genetic family. With strong roots and stalks, this product can handle variable soil types and works well in any row configuration. It also has a positive response to higher populations.
Stine 9808E-0 Brand Corn — A 114–116-day relative maturity product featuring excellent roots and stalks. Stine 9808E-0 offers very good disease protection against gray leaf spot, S.C. leaf blight and Goss’ wilt, and works well in all row widths and thrives in loam to clay-loam type soils.
