Stine® to offer Syngenta’s Victrato® soybean seed treatment in 2026

December 2025

Last week’s blog article profiled Stine’s XP® soybean seed treatments. The Stine® XP line of products provides great protection for fast starts and early development and is available through Stine’s network of seed treaters.

For those looking for an added level of defense, Stine Seed Company is now offering Syngenta’s Victrato® soybean seed treatment for use with Stine soybeans through its seed treatment network. Victrato received federal Environmental Protection Agency registration in November 2025 and is the first federally labeled seed treatment for red crown rot (RCR) in soybeans.

In addition to RCR, Victrato provides protection against multiple nematode species, including soybean cyst nematode (SCN), root knot, reniform, lance and lesion nematodes. It also delivers activity against sudden death syndrome (SDS) and offers early-season suppression of foliar diseases, such as frogeye leaf spot and Septoria brown spot.

In replicated field trials conducted under nematode and SDS pressure, Victrato-treated soybeans demonstrated statistically significant yield advantages compared to standard treatment options.

“Seed treatments play an important role in protecting yield potential, especially in fields with known disease or pest pressure. Victrato gives growers a new option to address challenges that have been difficult to manage in the past.”

Myron Stine, Stine Seed Company president

Stine says while protection against SCN and SDS is an exciting development, defense against RCR is particularly significant for soybean growers.

“Red crown rot continues to be a concern in many soybean-producing areas, and until now there has not been a federally labeled seed treatment available. Victrato provides growers with a management tool they have not previously had access to.”

Myron Stine, Stine Seed Company president

He adds that treatment decisions should align with field history and risk level. “Strong genetics remain the foundation of a successful soybean crop,” Stine says. “Seed treatments, including Victrato, are intended to complement those genetics by protecting them early, particularly on acres with persistent disease or pest pressure.”

Victrato is EPA approved and in process of receiving state registrations. Registrations have been granted in Iowa and Illinois, and additional state registrations are pending, with broad access expected ahead of the 2026 planting season.

Victrato will be offered to Stine network seed treaters for 2026 along with Stine XP seed treatments and other options. Contact your Stine representative to discuss availability and whether Victrato is appropriate for your operation.
