It’s that time of year again! While we make sure the turkey is properly thawed and brined in preparation for a meal that requires some of us — maybe even most of us — to loosen our belts and take a quick afternoon nap, there’s another constant this time of year. Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and gratitude; a time for everyone to say thanks and be thanked. Blessings are abounding every year at Stine, and we have our customers, employees and sales team members to thank for the company we are today. Thank you one and all for your commitment to Stine and, most importantly, for doing your part to feed and fuel the world. A few of our team members have also graciously shared what they are most thankful for this year.
“I am thankful for many things but most importantly for my family, our health and the opportunity to work for a family-owned company that is at the forefront of its industry with a thriving culture.” — Ben Grinnell, director of sales, eastern division
“Surely being thankful is good. I am thankful for coworkers, steady leadership and all the opportunities I’ve had over the last 27 years while being employed at Stine Biotechnology. The ultimate gift I’m thankful for is the Gospel.” — Bruce Held, project leader, Stine Biotechnology
“I am thankful for a healthy family, friends and a career that is challenging and rewarding.” — Tom Larson, corn technical agronomist
“This year, I not only give thanks for the blessings of a wonderful family, friends and career, but for those things that were difficult to overcome, and the things that I had to work hard for as those are the things that have made me a better person.” — Truddy Tucker, agile portfolio manager and coach
“I am thankful for the opportunities to help farmers and play a role in feeding the world. While not always at the moment, I am thankful for the challenging circumstances at work and home because struggling and overcoming the challenges helps me become a better person and builds character.” — Chad Johnson, vice president, general counsel
“I’m thankful for several things: 1) Family. I’m lucky that we are a close-knit family; 2) Country and state: I’m thankful that I live in a free country where we can disagree but live and let live. I’m lucky enough to have been born in Texas, ’nuff said; 3) I’m thankful to work for a company that values what I do and allows me the opportunity to build a future for my family; 4) I’m thankful for a God that made all the rest possible.” — W. Todd Oliver, Region 27 RSA
“There’s so much to be thankful for each year that it’s hard to put into words. What I can say is that all of the blessings that have been bestowed upon myself and Stine, both big and small, can be directly attributed to our families at home, in the office and out in the field. From our families to our employees, sales team members and grower customers, we owe it all to you! Thank you, and happy Thanksgiving! — Myron Stine, president
