A Family Legacy in Action: Myron Stine Leads Stine® Seed Company Into the Future
December 17, 2024ADEL, Iowa — Myron Stine grew up working long hours alongside his father, Harry Stine, learning not only the value of hard work but also what it means to lead with purpose. Today, as president of Stine® Seed Company — a position he's held since 2016 — Myron is building on his father’s legacy while forging his own path to position the company as a leader in agriculture innovation and farmer-first solutions.
“After college, I liked the idea of working for the family business,” Myron recalls. “I felt many people do not get that opportunity. So, I wanted to try it, and I ended up very much enjoying it.”
From humble beginnings as a farmhand on Stine Seed Farm, Myron rose through the company’s ranks, serving as a district sales manager, regional sales manager, sales director, and vice president of sales and marketing before stepping into his current role as president. In each position, he developed a deeper understanding of the industry, the needs of growers and the values that define Stine Seed Company.
"Being a family-owned seed company allows for flexibility in how we operate,” Myron says. “We’re not bound to corporate boards. We have the independence to make quick and logical decisions — ones that are innovation-driven and in the best interest of the farmer.”
From legacy to vision
As president, Myron has ambitious goals to grow Stine while staying true to the principles that have guided the business for decades. His strategy is rooted in delivering value to the farmer through customized solutions, innovative farming practices and the best genetic material on the market.
“My ambitions are to take the Stine brand to a new level in delivering value to the customer,” he says. “This value comes in the form of being more closely connected to growers, bringing them customized solutions for their farm, including innovative farming practices, the best germplasm on the market and a sales team that’s there with them through every season.”
Under his and his father’s leadership, Stine has also continued to pioneer advancements in agriculture, including the high-population, short corn revolution, and solidified its position as the second-largest Enlist E3®brand in the United States.
A unique partnership
Despite his title, Myron still works closely with his father, whose influence and innovative spirit have shaped the company since its inception. Together, the father-son team ensures that Stine remains financially secure and continues to deliver products that meet the highest standards of performance.
“My father has taught me nearly everything in leadership,” says Myron. “Doing your best to be fair with all individuals and entities involved in business situations is what I always witnessed from him.”
Shaping the future of agriculture
As a family-owned and independent seed company, Stine is uniquely positioned to adapt quickly to industry changes and deliver what farmers need most. Myron’s leadership, backed by decades of experience and a forward-looking approach, ensures that the company will remain a trusted partner for growers for generations to come.
“Our position as a family-owned business allows us to stay true to our roots while providing a springboard to stay ahead of the latest innovations,” says Myron. “We will always do what’s best for the farmer first.”
